CCEE 150th Anniversary Celebration Weekend Event Itinerary

 

Thursday, Sept. 16

5-7:30 p.m.

Social Event, Prairie Moon Winery; $25 (appetizers, drink ticket included)

Join us for the kick-off event of the celebration weekend! Enjoy drinks and appetizers while socializing and networking with friends and new acquaintances. Learn about the department’s rich history through highlights and photos and test your knowledge with CCEE and ISU trivia.

 

Friday, Sept. 17

10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Research Symposium and Networking Lunch, ISU Alumni Center; $25 (refreshments, lunch included)

10-11:45 a.m.: Research Symposium – no charge

11:45-1 p.m.: Networking Lunch – $25

CCEE students and faculty pursue innovative research that impact the lives of people all over the world every day. Join us for a showcase and celebration of graduate and undergraduate research activity. Following the research symposium, network and engage with current students, industry partners and alumni over lunch.

Afternoon Activities

Choose your afternoon adventure from two different CCEE events or create your own by exploring local attractions.

Option A:

2 p.m.

Golf Tournament, Coldwater Golf Course (Ames); $75

Gather a team of your friends or colleagues and join us for fun and competition at this 9-hole, scramble golf tournament. Shotgun start at 2 p.m.

Option B: 

1 p.m.

Weitz Site Tours, various locations; $10 (transportation included)

Tour three different project sites, courtesy of the Weitz Company, on the way to the evening social. Depart from the Alumni Center and head to the ISU Vet Diagnostics Lab site in Ames, followed by the IBEW Office site in Ankeny, and then to an office renovation site in downtown Des Moines. The shuttle will take you directly to the evening social at the Botanical Gardens and then back to Ames afterwards.

Saturday, Sept. 18

9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Talks and presentations from Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni 2021 Inductees, Student Innovation Center; $25 (refreshments, lunch included)

9:30 a.m. – Noon: Talks and Presentations; no charge

Noon – 1 p.m.: Networking Lunch; $25

Help us celebrate the rich history of CCEE through our new 2021 Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni recipients. Hear from these outstanding alumni as they share on their careers and expertise. Following the talks, network and engage with current students, industry partners and alumni over lunch.

1:30-4 p.m.

Optional campus tours, various locations; no charge

Tour various campus locations to see what has and hasn’t changed since you were a student. Preset times and locations will be announced.

5:30-9 p.m.

Reception and Celebration Banquet, Sukup Endzone Club, Jack Trice Stadium; $75 (appetizers, drink ticket, dinner included)

Celebrate the past. Build the Future.

Join us at the 150th Anniversary culminating celebration at the Sukkup Endzone Club! The evening begins with a reception and live music, followed by dinner and program honoring our department’s new Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni inductees as well as our current Construction Engineering Hall of Fame members.

Keynote: Jack Uldrich, Global Futurist, Speaker, Author

Jack Uldrich is a renowned golbal futurist and the best-selling author of eleven books. He is a frequent guest on national media and regularly appears on the Science Channel’s television program “FutureScape” and the Discovery Channel show “Inside Out.” He is a prolific speaker on technology, change management and leadership and has addressed Fortune 100 corporations and state and regional governments on five continents. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with his wife and two children.
