Hoover Mentoring Workshop

The Hoover Mentoring Workshop is an annual workshop that brings together  engineering students and practitioners to promote mentoring relationships.

2007 Workshop

Date: November 9, 2007

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: Scheman Building, Iowa State Center

Speakers:

  • Craig Denny, senior principal engineer, Terracon Consultants
  • Jeff Russell, professor and department chair of civil and environmental engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison
  • Carl Monismith, professor of civil and environmental engineering, University of California-Berkeley (keynote speaker)

Plus: Representatives from Burns and McDonnell, Kiewit, and the Federal Highway Administration will give a presentation and participate in a panel discussion about best practices for mentoring interns and young engineers.
