Iowa State AGC in Mississippi

The Iowa State University Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) student chapter sent 36 Construction Engineering students 1,026 miles south to Kiln, Mississippi. Kiln is a small town of about 1,500 people, located about 10 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. With great success last year, we decided to continue our relationship with Community Collaborations Inc. (CCI) by staying at their newest volunteer camp facility in Kiln.

For seven days, the CCI campground served as a base for our group’s Spring Break activities. Through the private fundraising of over $12,000, the Iowa State AGC chapter was able to send the entire group to Mississippi with two trucks, three vans, and a 24-foot trailer packed to the ceiling with donated tools.
