Related Publications:Research Objective: The problem addressed in Phase 4 of this research project involves developing a better understanding of the impact of the Hispanic workforce training on improving the productivity and safety on transportation construction projects. Feedback that we have received reveals that people like what we are doing. Documenting the benefits of this training will provide more conclusive evidence related to the value of this project. In addition, there has not been an opportunity to train large number of workers in order to see aggregate improvements in the Iowa construction industry.
The principal objective of the research in Phase 4 is to quantify the impact of Hispanic workforce training and continue to train both American supervisors and Hispanic construction workers. A "train the trainer" approach will be considered in order to obtain a broader reach of these course materials.
