Research Objective: The objective of this project is to update and publish new Chapter 13 (Traffic Signal Design) and Division 8 (Traffic Signal Specification) documents for the SUDAS manual. This effort will require a significant amount of collaboration with numerous groups including a project advisory group, the SUDAS Traffic Signal Sub-Committee, consultants, contractors, DOT and municipal agency staff, the signal industry, as well as professionals from other fields such as electrical, geotechnical, and soils engineering. Numerous individuals will be requested to donate time and effort into this work and this places a heavy burden on the part of the research team to utilize all resources as effectively and professionally as possible.
