Research Objective: Trenchless technology is an emerging area of construction involving innovative methods, materials, and equipment for installing new and replacing existing underground infrastructure with minimal or no need for open cut excavations.
This research aims to document the current practices and applications of trenchless technology in the United States and in Iowa in particular and to evaluate the effects of trenchless construction on surrounding soil and adjacent structures.
