Research Objective: The primary purpose of this research is to study the visualization and simulation needs and constraints of state departments of transportation and to identify various visualization applications for use in the design of work zones that best meet these needs within the stated constraints. A secondary objective of this project is to apply selected visualization and simulation techniques to the I-235 reconstruction project, using data collected by Iowa State University researchers since 2004.
