More Tests and Projects

Well - I just got done with my second Structures test of the semester and I actually think it went pretty well.  I apologize for not writing in SOOOO long.  things just keep piling on.  Not to mention I haven't had a weekend with not plans until this past weekend.  Can you believe that?  Every other weekend I have been out of town at weddings, my boyfriend's hometown, dances, travelings, etc.  It's a lot of fun but makes for LONG nights during the week.

Right now I am currently interviewing for a full-time job - looking all over in Kansas City, Chicago, Michigan, Iowa and California....any suggestions?!  It's a lot fun and I am finding that it's going to be a tougher decision than I ever thought and that decision comes in about 4 weeks...yikes!

I do have some exciting news - over Christmas break I'm going on a 5 day Western Caribbean Cruise - never been on one so pretty excited about that!

Right now classes are getting busy - second round of tests, lots of projects and papers coming up, quizzes and then of course the usual homework.  It always seems that the month of November is jam packed with school stuff and then after Thanksgiving break it just flies on by.  Which, by the way I cannot believe it's almost Thanksgiving.  I went to the grocery store the day after Halloween and they were already selling Christmas stuff.  It just seems to get earlier and earlier each year.

Outside of classes the learning community is going well.  All the peer mentors are doing a great job engaging the students in learning more about construction and the students are enjoying their interaction with their Industry Mentors, jobsite tours and faculty members!  I'm excited though about a new leadership class we're going to try out next semester.  I'm just beginning the early stages of planning the class for ConEs to take to count towards their engineering topics.

One general hint from me - take some fun classes that will benefit you in the future and that you may not have the opportunity to take while you're at college!  You're already paying for the education so might as well try and enjoy most of the classes.

Well it's getting to be late and I have an early day tomorrow.  Oh - for those females out there - we have some fun activities for all the women in the ConE program.  This Friday there are 16 girls going to Kansas City on a trip sponsored by JE Dunn for the entire day.  Should be a good time.  I'll let you know how it goes and what we did/saw!
