Spring Break with Good News

Last week was Spring Break here at ISU and I was able to go home and visit my parents.  I was also fortunate enough to go and visit one of my Grandmas as well which is always a fun time; I haven’t been able to sit down with her and play a good game of cards for quite some time.  Even though many of my friends were going to place across the country including Florida, Alaska, and California I feel that I was fortunate enough to spend time with my family over break.  My Dad and I were able to do a little fishing and my Mom and I were able to spend some quality time together.  These things are very important to me and even more so after the good news I got over break.

On Thursday of break when I was at MOA (Mall of America) I got a phone call from Burns & McDonnell and I was offered an internship down in Kansas City this summer in the Aviation and Facilities department.  I was so excited since I didn’t expect to get an offer from this company.  After this I realized that I would be away from home this summer for the first time and that is why spending time with my parents over break was really important.

I have another interview tomorrow down in Des Moines that I am preparing for and the usual homework to do tonight as well.  It seems that right after break the professors really packed on the homework so I will be pretty busy with that and an exam next week as well.  Hopefully the semester won’t feel like it drags on and I can make it to summer.
