Canon trip this summer
I was just getting back from the Canon trip from Des Moines River. It was my second time to the canoe trip but the fun has not reduced since of the dramatic weather.
It was at noon, and we have than twenty students met in the lobby of Town Engineering building and waiting for setting out. Suddenly, it was raining; and it was getting heavier. “Could we still go?” We were wondering~ running into the car, the rain didn’t change our plan. We drove to Boone even though it’s raining. Fortunately, it was turning to sunny right after as we arriving the destination. Yeah!
The weather was continuously good but the wind was in the opposite way as we cannoning in the following three hours. But to tell the truth, it was as comfortable as the wind blowing your face; most kids put their stuff in plastic bags in case to get wet. It was so “difficult” for some of the guys since they just flip over their canons again and again.”I lost my shoes!”; “where is my glasses?” you can hear such kind of voices; they were really interesting! Oh, I almost forgot to mention that some people were swimming in the river when we got break in the shore. I thought that will be cold though.
It was about four and half o’clock; we arrived in the final destination. there is a park close to the place to the terminal, we will have our picnic there. Christina was making burgers as we walking towards the little park. The burger smells good!
There are always that moment with your friends that worthy to recall. I want to thanks Dr. Ellis manage the trip for us; Eric and his wife were so busy for cook. Charley gave me a ride back and forth. It was a good day for me, yet unforgettable may be for those one who flipped over their canon.
