CCEE welcomes the following individuals:
Jenny Baker, lecturer in construction engineering, is a licensed professional engineer, a LEED accredited professional, and a certified lighting designer. She also has six years of industry experience as an electrical engineer/designer and lighting designer for engineering consulting firms. She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in architectural engineering from Kansas State University.
Linda Claussen, secretary for the construction engineering division, has come to the CCEE department after working for six years at Ames Laboratory. Claussen also has worked for various other departments at Iowa State since 1974. She has a two-year business degree from Gates Business College, formerly in Waterloo, Iowa.
Konstantina “Nadia” Gkritza, assistant professor of transportation engineering, has a broad background in infrastructure, traffic and transportation systems, and transportation economics and econometrics. Her research interests include transportation planning and systems evaluation, economics and policy analysis, and highway safety. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Institute of Transportation Engineers, Society of Women in Engineering, Women’s Transportation Seminar, and the Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Transportation and Economic Development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, a master’s degree from Virginia Tech, and a PhD from Purdue University.
Kristin Mauro, academic adviser for construction engineering, received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in human science from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She previously served in various university positions, including study abroad adviser and coordinator of state assessments at colleges in the University of Houston system. Mauro is currently working for CCEE part-time, but will begin a full-time appointment in January. She is a member of the National Academic Advising Association.
