Sigma Lambda Chi Update, Spring 2005

The construction engineering honor society, Sigma Lambda Chi (SLC), has been very active this year. Eight new students were initiated this semester, bringing the total membership to 29.
As a result of our large membership, we participated in many volunteer and outreach activities:
- mentoring and advising freshmen in the ConE 101 class
- helping judge the Associated Building Contractor's Excellence in Construction Award
- presenting Hotel Lego to almost 400 students from elementary to high school
- providing information about construction engineering and Iowa State University to 25 students and several parents for High School Senior Visitation Day
Besides volunteer activities, SLC has several social activities. These include guest speakers and Friday after-class pizza outings.
