Chair Candidates

James Alleman, professor of environmental engineering at Purdue University, has accepted our offer to become the chair of the department beginning August 16, 2005. Alleman brings outstanding credentials as a scholar and visionary manager.

He has been honored with a Fulbright Fellowship for the fall 2005 semester. During his absence, Ed Jaselskis will be the acting chair of the department.

Paul Tikalsky, P.E. (PhD 1989, University of Texas at Austin) is an associate professor at Pennsylvania State University.

Deborah Thurston, P.E. (PhD 1987, Massachusetts Institute of Technology) is a professor in the Department of General Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Reginald Souleyrette, P.E. (PhD 1989, University of California-Berkeley) is the Gerald and Audrey Olson Professor of Civil Engineering at Iowa State University.
