Assistant, Associate or Full Professorship in Construction Engineering

The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at Iowa State University invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in our Construction Engineering (ConE) program at the assistant, associate professor, or full professor level beginning August 2012. Iowa State University has the largest ABET ConE program in the United States with more than 350 undergraduate students.
Successful candidates are expected to develop an externally funded research program, to teach undergraduate and graduate classes, and to participate in professional service activities. Research interests such as construction finance, electrical and mechanical construction, building energy management, construction visualization, and information technology including data mining, data integration and data fusion would complement current research interests at Iowa State University. Interdisciplinary research efforts are encouraged, especially in biorenewable energy, sustainability, and extreme event engineering. Excellent communication skills are essential to be successful in this position. Professional registration or licensing, or the ability to become registered, is encouraged within the department.

Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in civil or construction engineering or a related field.
Associate Professor: in addition to the qualifications above, candidates should have an appropriate level of academic and scholarly success commensurate with tenure and appointment at that level and are required to have teaching and research experience in construction engineering or a related field.
Full Professor: In addition to the qualifications mentioned above, candidates must possess a record of national distinction and international recognition in construction engineering as well as a substantial scholarly record.
Preferred qualifications include an undergraduate degree in civil or construction engineering, relevant construction management education or experience, a proven ability to develop an extramurally funded research program and online education ability.
