The annual award honors a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Texas in recognition of specific achievement or attainment of noteworthy prominence in the structural engineering profession. Such projects that demonstrate this include the Southfield (Michigan) Public Library in 2003 and Sammons Collins cancer center renovation at Baylor University in 2011. Both projects received national awards for design and construction.
Larson is the senior vice president at Raymond L. Goodson, Jr. Inc. (RLG) in Dallas, Texas. He is a licensed professional engineer in nine states and is certified in the practice of structural engineering with the Structural Engineering Certification Board. In addition to his professional success, Larson has taken leadership in several Texas and national civil engineering associations. He also is active in his west Dallas community, where he had served as board president for the Wesley Rankin Community Center from 2003 to 2009.
