The American Society of Civil Engineers has a new initiative underway to change academic requirements for professional engineering (PE) licensing. In brief, the plan will upgrade requirements beyond the current BS-degree only educational standard. Their report, "Civil Engineering Body of Knowledge for the 21st Century, Second Edition," (BOK2) recommends raising the academic standard to a BS-degree plus 30 additional credit hours (assuming the minimum BS degree would require 120 credits). For more information, view the full ASCE BOK2.
CCEE wants to know what you think about the new requirements. We encourage you to fill out our survey.
