You may take this course after returning from either a semester or an internship abroad.

You can gain three credits towards your social science and humanities requirements, and with department approval, ENGR 320X may be used to meet the university international perspective requirement.
You must take at least nine credits overseas or be on an approved internship to be eligible for this course and be there for at least 10 weeks.
The program can either be an exchange program managed by the Engineering International Programs or an international educational experience managed by Iowa State's study abroad office
The course is graded on pass/fail basis.
Meet with a professor, typically one who is a study abroad advisor/coordinator or your academic advisor. Obtain approval for your proposed program of study and travel.
The faculty member must agree to evaluate your report, which will be written and presented the semester after you return.
Submit the ENGR 320X International Experience Report approval form to Janet Putnam, Engineering Undergraduate Programs, 110 Marston Hall.
Spend at least 10 days (not necessarily consecutively) traveling to meet a specific objective, such as study tours, to gain more practical knowledge in a specific field of engineering or to pursue cultural studies.
Keep photo records and a travel log during your 10 days of traveling.
Fill out an add slip for ENGR 320X; get the faculty evaluator and advisor signatures, and take the add slip to 110 Marston.
